Turkey & Italy – a continuing friendship

The good relationships shared between Turkey and Italy may have assisted during discussions regarding the acceptance of Finland and Sweden into the NATO alliance. Turkey had presented a number of issues regarding individuals resting within the two countries that appeared to be an obstacle for gaining Turkish approval. This appears to have been solved for the time being allowing the NATO plans to proceed. During the the 2021 G20 Summit in Italy with the assistance of Giovanna Piccolo of the OECD Sherpa team considerable communication was undertaken with Luca Trifone the G20 special advisor to the Mayors of Rome and Milan on U20 matters. Italy also has shown a considerable capability through the excellent and practical work of T20 experts from ISPI such as Giampiero Massolo the institutes president and Paolo Magri the T20 chair who was alway insightful.
